Fewkes Sport Management’s Rob Huff will make a triumphant return to the KUMHO FIA TCR World Tour grid later this month, as he teams up with Audi and Volcano Motorsport to drive an RS 3 LMS at the final two events of the 2024 season.
Hot on the heels of concluding his campaign in the British Touring Car Championship, the 44-year-old is poised to return to the global stage as he reunites with the car that took him oh-close to the coveted world crown last year to race in China and Macau.
The former FIA World Touring Car Championship title winner will line up at the Zhuzhou International Circuit for the first ever Chinese round of the TCR World Tour on the 18-20 October, before he looks to extend his impressive record on the streets of Macau on the 14-17 November.
Since 2008, Huff has been the master of the infamous track with 11 wins to his name across the Guia Race and the Macau Touring Car Cup; a record that is unmatched by any other competitor in all disciplines of racing.
Targeting what would be a record-extending 12th victory around the 3.900-mile circuit, the British racer is excited at the prospect of challenging for more accolades before the year is out.
“I’m delighted to be back on the TCR World Tour grid,” said Huff. “Up until the start of this year I’ve been racing around the world for the past two decades, so to have the opportunity to go and do a few international events now that my domestic season has finished is exciting.
“Volcano Motorsport is home to a few familiar faces for me, so I should be able to slot right in and hopefully we can hit the ground quickly. I know the car inside out having developed it and that is something that will work in my favour.
“Heading out to China – where I’ve enjoyed plenty of success in the past – will be good preparation for Macau. Going there the target is very clear; I’m looking for win number 12 and I’ll be going all-out to try and make that happen.
“I’ve got to say a big thank you to everyone at Audi and Volcano Motorsport for helping to put this deal together. It’s going to be brilliant to round out the year at one of my favourite places in the world.”
